I was at MCM London in the Spring as a GLaDOS with my attendant Wheatley - we had giant polystyrene heads, I had a shiny corset and stripey dress, he had a labcoat and blue shirt. I don't suppose any of the lovely friendly Valve lot we bumped into then happen to be
a) on this board
b) going in October
c) in need of a bunch of RED team?

I'm assembling a fem!Sniper cosplay, the Wheatley's becoming a Soldier, we've got a (BLU masquerading as RED) Spy, a Pyro and an Engineer. First time any of us are doing TF2 cosplay, so we'd love to meet up with others.

I will personally buy anyone of legal boozing age a pint, if the upstairs bar is open.

Why hello there! This is Miss Pauling. I won't be cosplaying Valve until the drinking meet this Expo probably, but I'm still organizing the meets!

Seriously can't wait to see a group that big!

---

GENERAL NOTE! Times are as follows:

Usual meeting point by the grass/cranes.
Sat: 12:00
Sun: 13:00

Drinking meet will be on Saturday night, starting at 7:00 in the same place.

I'm still painting and paper mache-ing things, so if I cock up the rifle at this late point I might be kukri-only.

And given it's likely to be freezing this weekend where it was boiling last time, I might bring hot mulled wine thermoses with me instead of icy margaritas and fruit juice. These I will share if anyone else is cold and in need of warm drinks.

Does anyone know a good place to eat after the con? I usually only go out to dinner in Central London, but there might be a few non-drinkers along in search of food after.

This needs to happen.

How do we do it?

If it weren't for safety, I'd make the lower legs solid and stand as if walking on stilts about where the knees would be. It would be a humongous costume due to scale and you'd probably break your legs trying to walk around in it (not to mention the fact that you would need to see somehow), but the proportions would be right. There's just not enough room for an entire torso in that ball if the legs are the size of normal human legs.
I'd love to see this attempted, though.

Unfortunately, spray paint won't work. You might be able to find you a good latex paint but it wouldn't last you more than a day or two. With Halloween right around the corner some stores and party shops should be carrying costume merch. Have you checked those places? You might be even to find some at a lingerie shop where strippers buy their costumes. In fact, that's where I got mine. Shitty cell phone pic attached.

Hey Gang!

Your Group Leader Valiax is here again to start up the thread for this year's TF2 gatherings! Hope ya'll are gearing up for this year's con!

This year, we will be holding two themes; Halloween/Meet the Team. Gatherings were discussed last year and this year we will be hosting a Halloween theme on Friday evening @ 7:30 PM in front of the hotel elevators at the Waverly. Show off with Halloween theme'd hats and accessories! You don't have to have something Halloween to be a part of the gathering, these are just optional for the spirit of Scream Fortress!

Saturday's Gathering is Meet the Team, once again hosting at the elevators at the Waverly con hotel at 7:30 PM. We will gather for group photos before moving to the back of Artist Alley (if room permitting) for some video/photo antics!

There has also been talk last year of doing a "TF2 eat out" on either Friday or Saturday, depending on interest and location. If planned, it is going to be a B.Y.O.M (bring your own money), as I will not be paying for others meals . This is optional should the group vote in favor of it.

So, recapping on meet up times:
FRIDAY = 7:30 PM, Front of Elevators of con hotel
SATURDAY = 7:30 PM Front of Elevators of con hotel, then later on back of Artist Alley if room permits.

Can't wait to see you all again, old and new this year!

I had no camera for this AWA.
Would someone be kind enough to post the pictures of the meet ups?

Hey guys, it's Red Scout! (one of them) I had the Red Spycrab and the Sandman.
If anyone is looking for photos from the shoots or just in general I posted up a few on my DA: http://wild-fire-1187.Sparkledog Central.com/
and more will be posted on Brody's Tumblr later this week: http://brodyontheroad.tumblr.com/
However, if you let me know who you were cosplaying as, I may have a photo that I didn't post up. So ask and I'll see if I have any. But please be specific.

Once again, Halloween is upon us. This year, I'm planning on doing a Sniper cosplay. I have most of the costume figured out, other than the hat, which I can't seem to find for any less than $80. Does anyone know where I could get one such hat(I think it's called a 'slouch hat'), preferably for an affordable a sane price? (Hats, must you elude me in real life too?)
>> No. 2710
i hope you have scruff to go with that character

but anyways, find a Goodwill or something similar where they have thousands of different assorted clothing and accessories for a charity price (super inexpensive)
i go there for finding costumes

I am also selling this on cosplay.com, but I figured I would post here too... considering it is a tf2-centric cosplay area.
COPY PASTE COMMENCE:

I have had this old, faithful Direct hit Prop for at least a year.
Here's some Photos:
Scope Detail
Wood Detail
Handle Detail

Despite its size it's a very light prop, a little less than 9 pounds, very easy to carry around a con for an extended amount of time. It measures in at 4" 2', 20" wide total, with the longest handle being 9.5".
The prop was built to be on model, here is the original Direct Hit for your reference.

I love it dearly, however, I do not have enough space in my new apartment to keep it, and I rarely go to cons anymore as is. So alas, I must find it a new home.
Considering the expense it cost to make it, and the sentimental value it's costing me to part with it, I will be selling it for $175 + an extra $50 for the hassle of shipping this enormous baby.

I am very interested in buying it! I also live in the DFW area! Lewisville to be exact! Would there be any other site to give you my phone number or something so I don't have to post it here?

Also, I go to work 10-5 today (Sunday) so if I don't catch you in the morning I'll get right back to you as soon as I get home!

Okay So I'm beyond late for asking who all is going to be at this years Dragon*Con and if anyone is going to be in their parade. There are a few of us who are going to be in the parade and we were wondering if anyone else wanted in while we could still register for it.

I know the vests/jackets/non-thriftable parts of class costumes can be the hardest parts to figure out, so I though I'd extend some help to anyone who'd like it.

Got questions on anything related to TF2 cosplay construction, from sewing on a patch to making a class vest? Ask your resident seamstress slave! I've made costumes for five out of the nine classes to date, and Medic three times. Whoo fashion degree! Look at where you've got me!

Oh, and I found this little guide, which is really helpful too. It shows all of the basic seam finishes you can do without a merrow machine:

Hello
I am currently making a Pyro costume and I was wondering what the best way to sew a jumpsuit would be? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much
