July 1st-4th at the LA Convention Center.
Last year's Valve gathering was MASSIVE and I'm looking forward to see if we can actually get an official count this year.
So, who's going and what plans do you have for AX?
This year I want to try for a BLU Heavy cosplay, but if I can't manage the funds I'll just stick with my BLU Soldier.
Planning to go as a BLU medic, and my partner is coming as a RED. If we've got the funds after that, we'll also be attending as Scout and Sniper.
Last year was pretty huge :>
I have so many pics still.
I'm going as RED Pyro again i guess, lol is that lame?
BLU Medic reporting in! I will be meeting up with a couple of friends who will also be doing cosplays... I don't remember what they are though haha. Sorry!
Man, I wish I could go! Last year was amazing (I was the RED Femedic with the light up medigun).
Have fun guys!
My friend and I are going! I'm gonna be a RED Sniper, BLU Scoutma, and a Hunter. I believe she's gonna be a RED Spy and Zoey and then some other anime characters, I forgot who.
Hey, I'm a BLU Sniper this year!
Also, check out the gathering thread
Gonna be going out today to see if I have any luck finding a red pin-striped suit top for a Red Spy. If I can't find it, I can fall back on my Blu Spy from last year.
Got a speaker t-shirt from Think Geek and I gonna load it up with TF2 sound clips. :D
I have a group that should be 1 complete red team.
Wish I could go but my parents won't let me. Going to AM2 on Friday instead as Julie from Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
What day should the meet take place?
>What day should the meet take place?
The official Cosplay.com Valve gatering is on July 2nd at 12 PM outside the West Hall, the same location as last year.
I hope you all can take a quick look over the weapons policy as well, so you don't arrive disappointing to find out you can't have your weapon at the con: http://www.anime-expo.org/guides/weapons-policy/
Hope to see you there for another successful gathering!
Awesome im glad to see there is a gathering already planned. This is my first year actually cosplaying a TF2 character, so im stoked to actually be a part of the photo-shoot for once and show off my awesome Sasha.
Last year i was the guy with the boombox playing Still Alive, and i wont have it this year. If someone wants to pick up the slack that would be awesome
RED Medic reporting in!
THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER WEAPONS POLICY THREAD ON THE OFFICIAL AX FORUMS: http://www.anime-expo.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14624
>2. Under 15 lbs (and I WILL be bringing a scale next time)
There was someone who brought a 40+ pound Sasha gun last year. I'm sure this will not be allowed again.
Please be weary of this (probably) enforced rule.
>NON POWER TOOLS:
>1. Cannot be made of metal (preferably, because we use tools during the convention and that would just seem hypocritical)
Engies: NO REAL WRENCHES! FYI, my crowbar is actually a rubber cast of a real crowbar with my own custom paintjob, but I do get hassled by staff A LOT.
Also, be sure to get the weapon peace-bonded, regardless of what it is, even if you're just using it for the gathering.
Our group is (and I presume will always be) huge, and I do not wish to get the Valve gathering in trouble or banned from AX.
Thank you, and I advise you to also skim over this alternate rule set.
Oh and snipers. Jarate does need to be peace bonded (and preferably a plastic jar). We had problems with a sniper actually breaking a jar at Anime Los Angeles this year, and luckily did not get in trouble.
Blu Engie with Dispenser Reporting in! I hope we have just as much fun and people as last year!
Yo Where All Da Photos At?
Red Spy here, it was nice to meet you
Another RED Spy? A shame we didn't get a chance to meet.
Another RED Spy reporting back! I had so much fun this year. Thank you guys for making it splendid. :)
I actually took only one photo at the shoot and that was of the Atlas and P-Body with their Chell. So I can't contribute this time around.
But I know a lot of people took a lot of photos so yea... where are they at you guys?
