Aw darn, I was going to start the thread.

Aw well.. that's what I get for losing internet for the whole day. Anyways.

Since I somehow volunteered to host the photoshoots from last year's on the fly gatherings, if memory serves me right, most of the groupies on Saturday night wouldn't mind a repeat for 2011.

SO, here's the scoop, we will be hosting two gatherings, Friday evening at around 5-6 PM, give or take depends on things, and on Saturday around 7PM, since it worked for people to go have fun at the con then gather when the majority madness settled down.

I'm going to bring RED Team's Sniper with a Trophy Belt hat, Tribalman's Shiv and (hopefully) sniper rifle, RED Soldier with the Worms: Reloaded Hat and holy hand grenades, and REALLY hope to have RED Medic with a MP3 Medipack so we can all jam to TF2 tunes and remixes. Location will most likely be back in front of the elevators for both days. If there's a crowd already there, we can move locations, I'm open for options (like the rarely photo'd bridge or parking deck for more industrial themed photographs.)

I'll be bringing my RED Medic, and I'll have a RED Soldier with the black box, and a RED Sniper with the Sydney Sleeper in tow.

Also, are any of those times generic Valve meets or TF2 specific? Are there any Valve gatherings? I've never been to AWA before. I've pretty much just stuck to the Panhandle.

As far as I know, there's a L4D group meeting up on Saturday but they seemed more interested in doing their photoshoots alone in the day. Not sure about anyone doing Portal/Portal 2 but they are more than welcome to come over with us TF2ers and PERFORM SCIENCE!

Just a friendly bump in hopes of gaining some attention. I know there's gotta be some people left over from Dragon Con attending AWA and it's 3 weeks away!

We've got a professional cosplay photographer coming with us, too. He's Mike Smith of Crestview, Fl and he does mini-shoots for free. He's not sure if he'll be there Friday but he said Sat and Sun for sure. He was at Dragon Con but he didn't have any TF2 pics on his website.

Also, went to glance at cosplay.com's forum and apparently someone without checking other sites first is trying to set up a Tf2 meet @ 2PM. I can not stress this to keep confusion from running a muck, "THE BIG TF2 GROUP ON SAT. IS 7PM" If they want a small gathering with friends that's fine, but the majority gathering is stated above.

I don't log in to cos.com anymore (because I rarely post/use it as it stands and I don't remember my password nor care to retrieve it) So anyone who as an account there, can you please relay the info about the gatherings so no more confusion can be made? Thanks!

Well, I'm just doing TF2 the whole weekend, so just the two gatherings I have planned. You're more than welcome to hang out with me anytime, I usually just wander around to get single shots or to play around with other TF2ers in Artist Alley or where ever. Randomness abound!

I'll be BLU Scout one day of course but I've got a new steampunk outfit I'm putting together so I don't know what day I'll be in Scout. I'm also not sure if I'll be bringing my RED intel as it has a bad history with airports and being carried on a plane. But I should have my Sandman as AWA is one of the few that doesn't give me guff for having an actual bat and I'll probably wear my Milkman.

If I don't catch you guys at one of the meet ups, you'll find me in the dealer's room selling DVDs.

Just a reminder to everyone about the gatherings:

FRIDAY TF2 GATHERING = 5:30 PM (give or take)

SATURDAY TF2 GATHERING = 7 PM

Both Days will be at the same location in front of the elevators of the Hotel. If you see any TF2 costumer, please pass the meet times around, we want to bring in as many people as possible!


Also, on a side note, does anyone happen to have or know where to get toy grenades for my Soldier costume? I looked everywhere near me and there's absolutely nothing and it's too late to order online (I'm arriving at the con center early on Thursday afternoon). If anyone going as Soldier has some spares or don't mind loaning them out to me for the weekend, I would greatly appreciate it!

Turns out the weapons policy this year says no wooden or metal bats specifically. So no Sandman.

But since October is this weekend, I decided I can bring my Mildly Terrifying Mask. Can't wear it while working the booth but I can put it on while I hang out with you guys.
