So i WAS gonna do a leather pants/TF2 skit with two of my friend's but they're flaking out. I live in the East Bay area and if you live near this area (Berkeley/Oakland/Albany/San Francisco/San Jose/Fremont) please please PLEASE drop a message if you are interested. I REALLY wanna do this skit. It seems like it'll be such a good one, and the parts that i need are Bakura/Scout#2 and Yami/Spy. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi you're my only hope! D:

I've been wanting to do a TF2 skit for a while! Unfortunately, I won't be sure if I'm going to Fanime for a while, but please keep me updated about this in case I do end up going!

BLU Scout here.

Awwww! Damn. I will be sure to then!

can you even enter non-anime themed stuff at fanime? I guess since it's a cross over...

If I'm able to go to fanime, I'd be willing to help out however I can.

You have a point. I'm not sure if TF2 is qualified since it's a Western game. I remember looking up the rules last time I was there but I wasn't sure if they had changed.

If not, is anyone available to do something for Wondercon? At least as a walk-on entry or something?

It is allowed since the have a valve group o.o;; and im sure it would be! If not then poo on them. If you're down with it gimme an email with something i can contact with and what role you want *scout2 or *spy ill also need a fan name.

This is from the Fanime Masquerade rules for 2010 (cached page on Google):
>All costumes must be based on Asian film, such as characters from Battle Royale (Japan) or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (China), Asian animation, such as the Japanese animation Naruto or the Korean animation Wonderful Days, Asian comics, such as the Japanese Card Captor Sakura, Korean Model, or Chinese Story of the Tao, Asian-origin video game, such as Final Fantasy or Ragnarok Online, or Asian music stars (such as Malice Mizer or Morning Musume). Also acceptable is Asian-inspired anime, such as Avatar. The rule of thumb is: if the series and/or character originated anywhere else than the Pacific, it doesn’t qualify. If you aren’t sure, ask.

The costumes would not be from an Asian media source, but since it would be a crossover, I'd ask. I don't know who to ask, but you should check out the Fanime forums, they're pretty useful, and may have a related topic. Also keep in mind that the rules can change from year to year - but usually they get stricter, so don't get your hopes up.

Personally, I most likely will not be attending Fanime this year (and I could go on a rant about how unprofessional Rovers staff are). I should be around at least on Saturday for Wondercon, without costume because I'm broke/lazy/all of the above, but I could be a stage ninja/handler for a Wondercon skit if that happens and it's needed.

Damn them. I'll ask. Dx
When's wondercon? I may need a handler but first i need others for those roles. I'm short on money and fanime is the only one i can save up for...

Wondercon is April 1-3 at the Moscone Center (South) in the city. http://www.comic-con.org/wc/ It's pretty inexpensive if you just go one day, and it's not far from the Powell BART station. You can totally see everything in one day, too, I did it last year. Also, if you volunteer, you can get reduced admission, so always something to look into.

While it looks promising, the time limit for the amount of people im using is a pretty short one :/
As awesome as my idea is I'll most likely shorten it to an actual skit where the scouts steal the leather pants, with dialogue and props. I will most likely need a good two or three stage hands to help.
