The Zombie Hunters. Dark, zany humor and lots of action with zombie gore. The art changes over time to become gritty and realistic.

Forming:

http://jessemoynihan.com/?p=11

It's an incredibly bizarre (and adult/graphic) comic, but extremely interesting and entertaining one, done by a dude who works on Adventure Time. A big ol' mish-mash of ideas taken from world creation myths and ancient gods and general ancient mythology madness.

No example picture because I don't know what to pick.
The art on this is amazing. Sure, it has it's flaws but GODDAMN THOSE BACKGROUNDS
And the artist still manages to churn out four to five pages a week.
The story, while sometimes a little lengthy is still interesting and definitely something new. Also I have to admit that I simply love the main character (crazy gentleman y/y)

I want to slap whoever called one of these trolls from Homestuck his waifu on another board. That made me think, "Damn, if someone is basing their waifu off of this comic, it's got to have some merit."

And then I started reading for, like, DAYS and I still can't figure out what's going on. The story is a huge clusterfuck but I can't stop reading.

Romantically Apocalyptic

Follows the shenanigans of a not too sane Captain and his subordinates surviving the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust.

Very whimsical despite the setting and the art is beautiful.
