fellow Touhou fag here !

tbh, i came to Team Fortress by doing an detour - Touhou (it was the TF2-version of ナイト・オブ ). And so more Remixes followed until i realized that TF2 coould be a pretty fun game to play.

So as you may know, there are few Touhou skins for Team Fortress 2 out there, replacing each class with a Touhou character.

Scout → Aya
Pyro → Mokou
Medic → Eirin
aso.

Now my question is :
Which character would be the best replacement for the particular class ?

I'm almost afraid to post in this thread.
For starters, though, I'd like to note that this is probably in the wrong board and would be better off in projects or, more likely (I'm assuming we're not out to make/encorage the making of new Touhou skins for TF2), video games, under the already existing Touhou thread.
Everytime I see the touhou skins, it creeps me out (the animu look in 3D has always done that), but Moku as a Pyro, Nitori as an engineer and Aya as a scout are choices I can get behind. I also can't really object to Eirin being the medic.
Everyone else seems thrown in, though, based solely on single traits they happened to have in common. Suika as demoman? She's a drunkard too! Yuyuko as heavy? Boy, she talks about eating a lot! Sakuya as spy? She uses knives itssoperfect! Patchuli as sniper... Yeah I've got nothing; likewise with Reimu as soldier. I get that she's the main character of the series and all, but, as I've said, it just seems like a hasty, random choice.
Then, these were all probably chosen around Touhou 10, so it's not like they had Utsuho or Koishi/Nue/Mamizou to chose from (those guys would make a decent soldier and spies, respectively). I can't really think of a really good heavy and demoman, though. Suika or Yuugi could be a decent heavy, but the former, despite her ludicrous strength doesn't look the part. Yuugi, even, is rarely drawn in such a way that she does; picture related, and that's not even that buff looking. Shuttingupnow.

I have no idea what Touhou is but all that modding is gonna take a lot of time and effort. Good luck to you!

Toast, I totally respect you and all, but this Chan is REALLY not the place for this sort of thing, like, REALLY.

If I can't even make a harmless little thread about ponies in /offtopic/, there's no way people are going to accept a crossover about people in an "Animu" series taking roles set in the TF2 universe. it's just fucking physically impossible. Like giant, 40 feet tall spiders. Or Santa.

I'm sorry, but this is probably going to be locked by the mods to keep people from busting a nut in RAEG. In case that happens, good luck finding fellow Touhou/TF2 geeks elsewhere.

I REALLY MEAN THAT.

I'm going to move this to /projects/ for now.

If any mod thinks this should be locked they can go ahead but I'm just going to play like this is just some skin ideas for video game crossovers for now.

I have no idea what this even is, but I looked at the models they made and I'll hate you forever if you use these :[

ok.
sorry if i was offending anyone here. this clearly wasnt my intenion.
( i thought about this thread for a while now and i was afraid that noone will pay attention / everyone will be bugged with this - and i do unterstand that[...] )

the main reason i opened this thread was that i am really into Toho and there are actually similarities between some characters in both games. there are many ideas around that make sense to me, when a current appearance is replaced by another.
i like this crossover, but please. Touhou is no animu shit. and i am far away from being a weeaboo.
i just wanted to share my ideas.

to the mods : thanks for moving. lock it, or delete it if you think its senseless to discuss.

Why is skin for demoman white??
Isn't there anyone who has brown skin in touhou?

nope, there isnt.
i dont know why, but ZUN never designed a dark skinned character.
btw, Suika is pretty fitting as Demo. She drinks alot and she seems to be always drunk.

On this subject: ZUN is a Japanese "artist" of the anime style (though the quality of his official art for the games is a bit sub-par to put it bluntly). I'm not saying it's right and fine-and-dandy that there's no dark-skinned characters in Touhou, but, with the fact that the series so clearly is lending itself towards an anime-esque style of art, it shouldn't be that surprising that there's few-to-no dark-skinned characters. That, and the games litterally take place in an extended alter-world of Japan where (mostly) Japanese creatures of folklore and some rather unfortunate humans live; it should be more surprising that everyone, japanese myth-beast, resident, alien or what-have you looks like caucasian little girls.

That having been said, and going along with one of the points I made earlier: why is it that a demoman has to be drunk or has to be black? (Before anyone starts losing their shit over these comments, I'd like to note that literally no one gives two shits about the ethnicity about any other class, just the nationality). I just don't see suika being the best choice for a Touhou-based demoman just because she drinks a lot. Lots of people drink a lot.

I'll stop ranting on this now...

Just my two cents and a polite sage, but...

Yeah, that's true that the characters are sort of thrown in... unless you look at the additional material that can be found for each character.

For example:
>Suika as demoman? She's a drunkard too!
She's also extremely powerful, especially in the fighting games as both a PC (she's generally considered a VERY good fighter) and a NPC. And like the Demoman, while outside of canon they're often seen as silly due to lol drinking, in-game they're both extremely seriously and will call people out on their BS. Of anything to do with explosives, Suika is the second-most correlated to it (Utsuho being first, but from the old skins she's a Solly alt).

>Yuyuko as heavy? Boy, she talks about eating a lot!
Yeah that is out of nowhere, too, but there's no closest character to being a Heavy (non-canon Letty notwithstanding). That, and she's one of the few characters pretty much considered by EVERYONE to be taller and stockier than the others (same with Eirin).

>Patchuli as sniper... Yeah I've got nothing
Both prefer to be alone, do not work well with other people, and are very technical. They're also quieter than the rest of their friends. Honestly, though, Reisen would make a much better Sniper.

>likewise with Reimu as soldier
At least outside of canon, Reimu can be angered easily and domineering. But it may be due to stats; in terms of things like speed and HP, both Solly and Reimu are considered average.

>Sakuya as spy? She uses knives itssoperfect!
Both are concerned with cleanliness to a fault (Spy because those suits sure are expensive and Sakuya because she's a maid, that's her thing) and Sakuya is usually considered to be more sneaky than the other characters; she's the one human you'll see hiding in corners and fooling people in combat rather than the more straightforward Reimu and Marisa.

>so it's not like they had Utsuho or Koishi/Nue/Mamizou to chose from (those guys would make a decent soldier and spies, respectively)
Again, with the old skins they happen to be alts alongside Cho Marisa being a Heavy alt. I have no clue if those alt ideas will carry over to the new project, though.

The old, stocky models are considered not affliated with that group (in part because they look horrible and in part because the modeler that made them was being a huge jerk to the new team and left them). The newer models are considerably slimmer and better-looking.

Responding to an old post, but from personal experience I've found that Touhou fans are a lot more mild-mannered and less aggressive than Bronies.
