I believe that written accents should not be heavy handed--just one or two words per sentence, plus some local slang, is enough to suggest that they're not speaking perfect English. Spy/Soldier: Can't say I was a big fan of the repeated use of "the rogue" (I'm guessing it's because I'm a huge D&D nerd and seeing that term threw me out of the story every time).
