I mean, she's obviously got a fandom, but why? Granted most TF2 OC's I've encountered are just gender/color altered versions of the original nine classes, so the fact I've never met a "new class" OC before might be part of my confusion.

Special Operations performs 'special operations'. I'm not going to lie - I didn't really put a lot of thought into her. Just seeing how far I can shove a female body into a dominant, hyper-masculine role. Her having a fan base kind of surprises me too, since I just stole a bunch of things from tank girl, solid snake, and pippi long stocking. Makes me feel better about it though, I have to say.
OH GOD I have seen some so-called '10th class' self inserts that would make you want to piss yourself - basically some girl's personal version of her favorite existing class. I'm not sure if I can name names without being banned.

mes, I saw one on dA that was basically a cheerleader for the team. Her job basically consisted of just jumping around all over the place in a skanky cowgirl outfit with pompoms that had a gun in each one.

The artist described her as, "A plucky little Asian chick that barely speaks any English". And the fact that it was drawn in an animu-weeaboo style just makes it scream Mary-Sue/Self-Insert.

She does everything perfect and boosts the team and makes them improve just about everything. Nothing is negated at all.

I like Special Operations though; she's refreshing to see, and I hope to see more of her from you.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty damn new to this.... But I generally can't STAND Mary Sues. When I want fanart, I don't want versions of characters drawn in an anime weaboo style that have no flaws and are the love interest of every single character in the damn fandom. There are some good OC's.... (And Special Ops is definitely one of them) but a lot of the OC's I'm seeing are really just inserts. I'm glad that I haven't seen the Japanese weaboo cheerleader girl, because I would have cried.
