Disregard that, I found a used copy.

My experience with music games is limited to one or two turns on DDR and DJ Hero, so naturally, I suck, but I'm getting into it.

No Little Big Planet 2 thread? How 'bout a thread for general discussion about it? Tell us about anything having to do with Little Big Planet 2, like maybe things you've created, tips for if anyone's stuck on a story mode level, or just anything Little Big Planet 2 related.

As for me, I've recently made a playable version of the last boss, the Negativitron, using the controllinator and a few other gadgets. It's published, but not perfect. I still have to iron out a few kinks, but I'm happy with it.

So what about you? Do you have anything Little Big Planet 2 related that you'd like to share?

What's different in LBP2 than in LBP? I bought the GOTY edition of LBP about 3 months ago when it was on sale because of the LBP2 hype...and with as user-created as the first one is, I can't imagine there being enough in the second one for me to want to spend $50 on it...

There's sack bots that you can put costumes on, so they look like the other players in the game, there's the controlinator, so you can build your own devices and even your own game modes. You can also change your level to cinematic or versus. In versus, each player is independent of the game leader's screen, so you can do whatever you want when playing the level, and not have to worry about dying from running out of camera space. Cinematic allows you to make movies using sack bots, and lets you put on a show for anyone who visits your level. Sack bots can be set to play actions that you record with them. In one of my levels, I made a sack bot version of my sack person to demonstrate how to swing across spongy ceilings without using the grappling hook. The story mode levels are also much cooler, because you have cinematics telling you the story, as well as actual animated characters, and not the lame built ones you find in the first Little Big Planet.

I also forgot to mention that in one of the creator worlds in story mode, you get to ride on bunnies, hamsters, camels, dogs and bees that you have full control over, and are programmed with special attacks. One of my favorites is the hamster, because its special attack is that it has a speed boost and you can race through tunnels with them.

Depends on the game, the older Final Fantasy games are kind of grind intensive, but with a Gamboy Advanced one you can play pokemon and those take a bare minimum of 10 hours and 15-20 more realistically. Besides with an emulator and free roms, your bound to find something to keep you entertained.

So I've been kicking about the idea of buying one of these, I'm not a massive console gamer, but I have to say the prospect of little big planet2 and all around better graphics for the big screen is tempting me.

So any of you have one? What's your opinion if you do?

Oh yeah I should also add that at the time I got mine, I paid my roommate $250 for it as part of a deal (she got her PS3 the day it came out and stacked a bunch of gift cards so that she only paid $250, and that was when the console was initially something like $450-500). So I paid $250 for a 40gb 1st Gen., and 160gb new PS3 is $299.99. I think it's worth the price.
>> No. 895
Thanks all. I'm trying to decide what to do with some of my savings if I don't get a chance to do comicon and I'm thinking this is one of the things. A lot of my problems with the xbox360 seem to be non existent on the ps3 from what you've said (not hd, have to pay to connect ext.) I still have my xbox 360 but It's more my boyfriend's than mine at this point.

I'm hoping the controller will fit better in my baby hands than the 360's does.

>>895
The controller is basically the PS2 controller sans wire, in terms of size/shape. Definitely less awkward than the 360, but that might just be my lack of xbox experience talking.

Also, it uses a few of the same cords as the PS2, which is nice because that means replacements are cheaper if you're like me and break/lose things accidentally.

YOU BET YOUR ASS IT'S CAVE STORY TIME.
CAVE STORY IS A FREE WARE JAPANESE GAME. BUT IT'S NOT YOUR TYPICAL FREEWARE THIS GAME IS THE FUCKING BOMB.
SO YOU (THE PROTAGONIST) WAKE UP IN A MUSTY AS HELL CAVE AS A MANLY AWESOME STREET TOUGH MAVERICK ROBOT WITH NOTHING TO LOSE. (ALSO WITH A HEART OF GOLD, JUST TO SECURE THE REFERENCE.) YOU DODGE SOME BATS, AVOID OBESE RACCOONS, AND NOW YOU GET THE POLAR STAR, A BAD ASS GUN. GUNS HAVE A SYSTEM OF LEVELING. EACH INDIVIDUAL WEAPON NEEDS TO BE LEVELED. THE MAXIMUM LEVEL IS 3. YOU GET EXP FROM LITTLE FUCKIN' TRIANGLES THAT ENEMIES DROP. IF YOU GET DAMAGED, YOU LOSE THE EXP FROM THE WEAPON YOU HAD EQUIPPED AT THE TIME.
IT'S KIND OF LIKE A CALLBACK TO ALL THOSE GREAT 8BIT GAMES AND ALSO HAS A FUCKING AMAZING STORYLINE.
SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, STUPID. GO AND FUCKING PLAY IT.

I'm not very good with image programs, so I have a small request. Would someone kindly take this .png and make it into a spray.

To keep this from being a waste of chan space, this is now a show off your spray thread.

One moment has the main character sitting on the couch with his girlfriend to celebrate his birthday, and you can watch an entire movie of some old film based on a book. Can't remember which one.

It looked interesting, and my friend had a copy - asked if it was any good, and his opinion was mostly "meh", so I never got around to picking it up.

The concept looked fun, but I wasn't sure if the story was deep enough to pull me in or not. By deep stories I mean like my favorite games are Bioshock and Star Wars KoTOR - not that I won't play 'shallower' games, just that they tend to hold my interest for about half a month, and then they sit on my shelf and I never get around to finishing them.

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/01/ps3-portal-2-to-come-with-free-pcmac-version-cross-platform-play.ars

>You already knew you would be buying Portal 2, but Sony and Valve have made the PlayStation 3 version an impressive value for gamers. Not only do you get the PS3 version with full Steam integration, but you'll get a free copy of the game for the PC and Mac OS X by linking your PlayStation Network and Steam accounts. You'll also be able to chat, and play with, friends and enemies on the PC and Mac versions of the game. Your game saves can be kept in the cloud to be accessed from any system.

>"We made a promise to gamers at E3 that Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 would be the best console version of the product," said Gabe Newell, cofounder and president of Valve. "Working together with Sony we have identified a set of features we believe are very compelling to gamers. We hope to expand upon the foundation being laid in Portal 2 with more Steam features and functionality in DLC and future content releases."

>Steam on the PS3 sounds easy and powerful. "PS3 gamers will be able to simply drop the Blu-Ray disc in the PS3, link to their Steam account from inside the game, and all their Steam friends (on PC and Mac) will be visible and accessible for chat and game invites," said Josh Weier, project lead on Portal 2 at Valve.

I preordered it from gamestop mostly because i wanted a hard copy. Also this doesn't look so bad, but the weird things with the 'hats' or whatever the hell they've got on their heads is just stupid.
Also, I'm pretty sure it's just me here, but I'm not fond of the name P-Body. It just doesn't....work for me.

Oh wow, I actually like that. Included is what's shown on their website and what I initially saw.

Shouldn't it be T-Body? S/he was initially a turret.

Yeah i saw that on there and said "what the fuck?"
And yeah i guess T-Body would make a little more sense for her.
I just call them Orange and Blue because, well, GLaDOS calls them that and it just sounds better to me i guess.
