Old thread died... again. L4D seems to have taken over most of my artistic endeavours lately; I'm really only drawing 'cause my internet's too lame right now for multiplayer.

That being said, goddamn I love guns.

As much as I love this all around. Holding a gun by the barrel while planning on firing is not so smart, the burns would be so bad.

Well, derp. I probably should have checked screenshots beforehand. |: I'll go fix that.

fff, and I was so sure he used the other hand.

I am an idiot, please excuse me.

Also, assuming he's right-handed, he'd pull the trigger with his right hand, as well as have the butt of the gun snug against his right shoulder.

I guess this could be me seeing your drawing wrong, but the butt of the gun doesn't rest against your arm when firing. Feel on your shoulder where your collarbone connects with your shoulder socket, and just a couple inches below that is where you rest the butt of the gun. Right next to, but not actually on, the actual socket.

Gah, simulposts.

I think you've made the forestock (the part his right arm is holding) a bit too short, which is why it looks a little awkward. To me, at least.

gunstuff aside, i gotta say that your simple colors, lighting, and rough line art are making me happy- in other words, this is veryvery pretty.

Otherwise you get the kickback from the shot in the most squishy of places and you don't want that.

I do love this picture, I'm glad you fixed it up so quick.

IT's TIME FOR A LESSON!

Your trigger arm will always be parallel to the ground, the butt of the rifle (Handle) snug against your shoulders. Your arm holding the body of the rifle will be snug against your ribcage (in order to maintain all of that weight. Rifles are heavier than they look). Never touch the barrel or it will burn like a mother.

That's not for a sniper rifle as far as I know, but similar rules apply. Valve has artistic license to mess around with positioning and accuracy.

Uh by parallel I mean the same way you'd fire a bow and arrow.

http://azgfd.net/artman/uploads/1/WLN_archery-schools.jpg <-- Minus the kids and the bow and arrow.

But like Mat says, "gun stuff aside", your coloring impresses me.

Oh lord, that is ridiculously obvious now I think about it. I usually mime actions before I draw them, but I didn't for some reason.

I'll draw some less-fail later.

Is it just me, or does the prospective on the railing seem a bit off? It looks like it's cascading on a slope that should be flat.
Sorry, I'm no help without my tablet for redlines on the floor. Maybe another anon could help you better.

Serious art aside (and I will redraw that Sniper picture sometime, I swear)...

our Christmas tree was lacking an angel for the top, so I made one.
