Artist of >>1006 here. I think the distancing effect came about on accident. Most of it comes from trying to smooth out and lighten the lines to make him look more translucent because, on paper, Spy turned out a lot darker than I would have liked.

Suppose I'll put something in here. drew this at work today cause for some reason we're not allowed to read now. Was a white piece of paper that I sharpied, then used metallic pencils on. I only had 5 colors, but eh. I'm planning to redo this when I find my real colored pencils, and have some references. and yeah, some stuff is off. this is actually the first time i've done color on black and drawn spy/tentaspy. Damn metallics don't scan well either.
