Okay, I sure as hell hope this is the proper place for this thread. Being an avid RPer myself, I want to share with you some of the resources I use to develop and name my OCs. Feel free to add your own!

Character

- This is an extremely in depth character profile that asks you loads of questions that could help you develop your character. It asks questions that you may not have thought of yourself:
http://pompfiction.com/links/character-profile-form/

- This is a list of useful questionnaires that can also help in character development. Failing that, if you don't feel like developing your stinkin' character, do some of the fun writing memes:

- This is partly for fun, but partly serious. I actually do run my characters through Mary Sue tests to make sure I'm not going nuts. Try it if you're bored or concerned:

Names

- Kate Monk's Onomastikon is easily one of the larger, more in depth name databases around. You can find names from all over the world here, bar none. Many sections even have guides to naming practices. You don't get the meanings usually, but the diversity more than makes up for it:

- Behind The Name is one of my personal favourites. Their name generator has more options than the Onomastikon, with options to mix and match. Whether you need a name for a character or not, try it, it's fun seeing what you get. You can click on the names output by it to get their meanings:

Reference

- Style Guide. Useful resource from Dictionary.com (which is also a site roleplayers ought to make good use of!):

Generators
These pretty well cover a lot of the other little categories I've listed. Use them for your amusement, convenience, plot, characters, ect...

Again, hope this is the right place to be putting this, and I hope it helps both writers and RPers.

Oh, I think this board has a filter for LJ addresses that turns them into "bitchapalooza." Fffuuu.

Just take the space outta there if it actually posts properly.
