This is really good, and as for the over-description of stuff... There are lots of authors who do that (not just Meyer). Have you ever read any Tolkien or Nabokov? They spend chapters describing shit. At the same time, you might want to avoid using cliche descriptors(like >3 said). Oh! And I thought it was very apparent that they were standing up, so there's that. DP is good for the soul!
