Ginger: ilu.... (call me) I love that everyone likes (or, at the very least, loves to hate) Spy, because he's probably one of the most... deplorably EVIL characters I've ever written. Sometimes I worry that I'm too over-the-top with his EEEEEVILNESS, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Good for me! Chess: Usually, I'd leave this sort of thing up to interpretation. But I think you kind of missed a pretty big point there: Spy used to think blood was deplorable because it stained badly. ( As in his taunt line, "You got blood on my suit!" ) There was no real symbolism or emotional input involved. I thought that'd be good to mention because I want to make it clear that Spy is NOT a good (maybe not even decent!) human being, and probably never was. Was he a slightly-less-horrible human being? Yeah. But that's asking, does bacon grease have SLIGHTLY less fat content in it than a tub of lard? Yes. But it'll still fuck up your arteries. I'll go ahead and say that when I mean Spy is the most fucking evil character I've made, I REALLY MEAN IT. I'm usually a big fan of the whole, "Who's the real monster" type trope, and making really complex villain characters with past lives that explains their motives, and are really actually good guys if looked at from the right angle... No. Spy is not that kind of character. He's dynamic, yes, and complex, but he's just a shitty human being, and you are meant to hate him AS MUCH AS YOU ARE PHYSICALLY ABLE. And, trust me. By the time I'm done with you, you will.
