#92: Yeah - Scout is more than a little disturbed. The main reason he hadn't done that earlier is because he's the type of guy to hate admitting weakness, and just thinking about what he went through hurt so much he'd rather avoid it all together. But some things just don't work like that. Some things you can't just lock away and forget about forever - especially mental and emotional trials. Another factor was Engineer himself. He's been a little wary about diving in head first with Scout - he doesn't know how to HANDLE crap like this with torture and rape and their repercussions and FEEELINGS... He works with machines. That's all. Everything else to him is like... It's like asking a marine biologist to become a lawyer for a day. Doesn't translate very well, if at all. Doesn't help that getting emotionally attached to Scout just... isn't a good idea at ALL. So, yeah. Not the guy you'd want to open up to. But I guess Engie just decided... "Screw it - I'm already this deep into the mess." We'll see how that plays out later. Chess: Thank you! I'm glad you're liking things so far.
