Nothing to see here, just some newfag to Gmod who has to take 3 hours to do basic posing.

I think it could have been better, but then again it was 4 AM and I redid it 3 times, so

I'm sorry, I can't stop laughing at their expressions.
They're just so not into it.
Look at Solly's face. He's thinking about killing Nazi's but nothing is helping him get it up.
And Heavy's just all, "Did I leave the toaster on?"

It's not bad-- just... the expressions. And Heavy's twinkle-toes... If Solly bends his knees a bit maybe they'd both be comfortable.

There's potential. I believe in you, newfag.

Thanks!

Also here, more derpiness, this time with more quality and blowjobs.

Anyone available to give me a couple tips?

The biggest tip I could possibly give if you want to rise above the average crap we have here on /gmod/ into the few gems: post-process your images. Flat screenshots of models posed in sexual positions are just too unpolished to actually be worth looking at, in my opinion. Get Photoshop, GIMP, or some other image editing program, and make things actually look good. I'll give an example of what could be done for the most basic image I'd consider worth looking at, using the image you have there.

Smooth your models and rid them of jagged edges, like Soldier's back. Normal bodies don't jut out at random angles like that, and it just looks unappealing.
Fill gaps and wrinkles where necessary, such as Heavy's right arm and Soldier's right ankle. Models and Gmod have never been perfect poseurs, and posing them in awkward positions (like, coincidentally, sexual positions) tends to distort their bodies. Fix them up by filling the gaps, and you'll have a much better image.
Utilize Depth of Field to focus the attention on your models, and not the background. I haven't used GMOD in a long time myself, but I do know there is a tool that allows you to take images with depth of field, blurring out the background as it gets further away. Your image is rather distracting behind the models, with a lot of books on the shelf and decorations. Focus the viewer where you want them to look by either using the aforementioned GMOD tool, or manually blur everything else out slightly in an image editing program.

Jasonafex has been doing a good job at making interesting GMOD works, even since he began posting here as just the Pyro Porn Guy, simply because he took the time to post-process his images. I'd suggest attempting to remake some of his earliest works to see what sort of things he fixed between screenshotting and posting the image, if you have the models and time.

I only disagree here with the photoshop issue. As someone who study graphic design and worked 4 yaers with photoshop. Jasonafez is realy good with photoshop, but everytime I see his pictures I just lost myself seeing how he use the tools in the image. A good "photographer" don't need photoshop in their work.

But yeah, as ashe said. use the post process tools to make the image looks better.
-Take care to the ragdolls don't "break", if you hold "E" wille geting a "limb" of the ragdoll you can twist it to a better position.
-Use "no colide" tool to make the interaction between the ragdolls more organic.

Funny thing is, I didn't notice Heavy's arm was messed up until after I posted...guess I should look more.
As for trying to remake Jason's earlier pictures, I'll probably get started on that at some point, I guess.

For now, have the result of screwing around with finger and face posing. Sorry if there are any blaring errors-didn't check over it very much.

If your picture is taken from a bad angle, no amount of burn, dodge, smudge, liquify, or blur abuse will save it. Don't take your screenshots by pulling out the camera and running up to the ragdolls, you'll get a much better shot if you stand farther away and zoom in. Better yet, use the camera tool to set up a few cameras at different angles so you can play with the lighting and posing without losing a good angle you've found.

Try to keep in mind the rule of thirds, good use of white space can make a mediocre picture look a thousand times better.

Try your best to make your poses and facial expressions look natural (this can be kinda hard with the TF2 ragdolls since their proportions are crazy), if you have a full length mirror somewhere you can use yourself as a reference for posture.

If you have the Advanced Duplicator tool (http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=119168), you can save your poses and place them on different maps. This is super damn useful for those times when you like the pose you've made but the lighting or props in the map just look ugly as hell.

You can get rid of shadows (like the ones under Heavy and Soldier in your first pic) without losing the use of lights by typing r_shadowcolor 255 255 255 in the console (it makes the shadows invisible, it doesn't really turn em off :V). Also, you can make the details on some props (like Engie's dispenser) look clearer with mat_picmip -5 (you could probably just type 2 or 3, I randomly picked 5 and stuck with it, heh).

If your ragdolls are being uncooperative buttlords, you can try turning the physics timescale down (it's under Utilities, Settings).

I hope this helps, and I apologize if I've said lots of stuff that you already knew. :V

Nope, Valve removed that a while ago because it was causing users "performance and stability errors," despite it being a moderately unknown console command. Mat_picmip has since been limited to -1, which is the setting for Very High textures in the options menu.

Aw shit, looks like I've had my textures set at just 'high' this whole time, sorry for the bad info, OP.

Also I wanted to recommend the Advanced Weight Tool from this pack: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=122453

You can use it to change the weight of different parts of the ragdoll. If they're being uncooperative, it's sometimes helpful to make the limbs weigh a good bit less than the chest/torso area.

Sorry for cluttering up your thread.

I wanted to thank you for this tip. Long time lurker, posted here a few years back but was never really happy with my gmod stuff. Didn't realize this tool existed.
