Yeah, I like this change, too. Good job, Valve.
I didn't have a problem with the TT, but, I don't know. It just seems kinda weird that they would give a German character that was probably old enough to fight in WWII a cap from that era. That's just poor taste, no matter how you dress it up. We can debate about "canon" (which isn't even being discussed, honestly!), or other hats that are ridiculous, but nothing else can send that uncomfortable of a message.
And really, the "Don't like, don't look!" argument doesn't cut it here. Only the most extreme are talking about deleting TF2 from their computers - there's nothing wrong with just being a concerned fan. As long as you conduct yourself with dignity I guess.
The same feelings for Heavy, I guess, because Stalin was even more of a shithead, but Stalin was just... crazy and paranoid. To my knowledge, he wasn't trying to perform genocide on a specific race - he was just nuts. Doesn't make the amount of death caused by him any less abhorrent, though - it's just that... Nazis were a more iconic form of evil, you know?
Ugh, heebie-jeebies. Let's stop talking about these guys now. Wow. I don't even know where I was going with this. Who cares. Everyone's pretty pleased about the outcome, and if they don't, oh well.
