Who says that you have to ship it? If it's just a little key chain, wrap it in a bit of tissue paper and mail it. It's much cheaper (or should be... second class mail could be even cheaper, and depending on what it's made out of it'd easily survive the trip).

they're made with sculpey and some are painted with acrylics. i try to use colored sculpey whenever i can, though, because i don't like how the painted ones look
