I had this teacher in college, he used to draw cilinders and cubes over my draws to show how to se the perspective.

Btw, I used to do this kind of exercice when I start to draw, I copy or use something as reference, but first I do a sketch trying to understand how they get that pose.

It works for faces too, but the results are a little souless heh. To pratice is good.
