it is (mostly) done

he doesn't have his bobblehead face, I wanted him to fit alongside the other classes. hopefully it works okay like this.

Just want to work out the physics model a bit then I'll get a download up.

Civilian's looking a bit too movie-star handsome and strong-jawed at the moment, almost Soldiery. Based on his TFC model and bobblehead he should be more wimpy-looking, maybe make the jowls droopier and the eyes sadder.

It's jaw fortress man, it's kind of hard to avoid.

Kind of understand this, while the face is done from scratch save the teeth and ears pulled off engineer, it's still pretty squared off. I tried to round it out while keeping the angularity of the faces common in all the classes. It's a hit or miss deal. /Everyone/ in TFC has got the sunken-eyed gaunt appearance, while in TF2, it's more brightened faces with JAWS of INDUSTRY/SCIENCE/WAR/SO ON. The most I could do was get the general idea down and hope people are open to my attempt at the transition. As for the eyes, on the models they're wide-open as default so eyelid flexes could be done... mostly correctly.

Now I don't know what more I can say other than my headcanon for this guy is that at one point he was a weatherman. Steamchat just had to give me the idea of the emblem being an umbrella, and everyone else just had to go "lol he looks like a weatherman, lol umbrella emblem, hey hunted guy, does the forecast call for chances of RAIN OF BLOOD?" but i haven't thought out why a weatherguy would have so many assassins after him.

Yes he was. He was short, and fugly like everyone else in TFC. Now he's... almost shorter than most everyone, and silly-looking, like everyone else. I'm not even going to get worried over how a number of people say he looks like soldier in a suit, hell, I was getting a lot of "scout's mom is scout in drag" (this was hilarious as well)

He was spur of the moment, and if I knew I was going to finish this guy in less than a month, I wouldn't have hidden his progress on tumblr to avoid teasing people, and gotten feedback. As it is, I'm not going back and changing anything.

Keep in mind, the only real difference between Superman and Clark Kent is posture. How you animate and display the character gives them much more personality than just their looks alone. But yeah, could use some unexercised pudge to boot.

It starts to get really awkward when there's different versions of models floating around in the community.
Now, I admit, first problem was hiding the progress from everyone and not looking for feedback.

What I did with announcer was tease with gmod poses, watched people's reactions, and make adjustments from common criticisms I saw. Once I got around to releasing her, I didn't have make any changes since most everyone was pleased. As for why I didn't interact with anyone regarding her... Well, it's obvious I can never say the right things, can I? :V

I am listening to you guys, really. I know it's a bit of a dick move to say I can't make any more changes to civilian. If it means anything, any future models will get similar treatment announcer got. Actually, since I'm planning on Miss Pauling next, I'll look around to get much more feedback since her appearance can be quite different from eye to eye.

I can't wait to see this one! Although I can understand the eye to eye differences. I had any trouble finding references of her other than the (near full) body shot in the WAR comic when I cosplayed her.

She has two different appearences anyhow. She has a purple and green assented shirt when she aproaches the Demo in WAR! and there's the other one (green and red, I believe) in The Administrator.
I always thought the purple looked better due to it being the obvious mix of red and blue.

Keep up the good work! I think the civilian looks fine... after all, it makes sense that he would be revisioned for TF2.

I know you don't like being pestered about models, but will you be fixing the eyepatchless Demoman soon? As of right now, any misc item not bound to his head (the badges, in other words) just kinda hover around the crotch area, clipping through the model. Also, though not a big issue, his ref. position is laying down instead of upright.

By all means though, finish up your other stuff before worrying about that... these are all much cooler anyway. :P

When you figure out the hair thing, could you share please? When I cosplayed as her I tried a TON of hairspray and twisting and such... nothing. Yeah... attached picture shows how well that worked. Next time I'm experimenting with hairnets.

Pauling doesn't have a logo, I threw that on there for filler. I don't know if I'll even have that on the model.

As for her hair, since it's all ONE GIANT BUN ABOUT TO EAT HER HEAD, and shapes itself in the most weirdest way to make it awkward to translate well to 3D, I went looking around for the next closest thing.

I am working on Pauling though. It'll still be a while. It helps I bring what I have done in-game to see more clearly how I'm majestically crapping things up. Proportion goof-ups need to be addressed and I could see her having more hair on her head. As for the face, it's gonna be a tug-and-pinch deal until I can settle on a result.

(yeah, it's a bit "yikes" at the moment)

...and she's gonna be smaller than a scoutma. i was wondering "why did i make her so small" then i remembered she's really small compared to demo in the comic. hurp.
